Yamaha PSRS900 61 Key Arranger Workstation Get it now!

I have owned an older PSR model and a DGX505 and this is by far the best keyboard that I have had. From my understanding, this is very similar to a Tyros 2 which is the more expensive model and cost more than twice as much. There is so much to this keyboard that it's going to take quite a while to learn all it's features.

I love the fact that you have over 800 voices (instruments) and the sounds are very realistic, including the sound of the hand sliding through the strings of a guitar. It has over 300 styles (accompaniment) to get you started, but you're not limited to just these styles. You are also able to download hundreds more from the internet i.e. Yamaha styles site, and specifically from the Yamaha and PSR forums. Additionally, you can download and use MIDI files and play along with them as well as use them as a learning tool. It has a very nice instructional feature where you're able to view the notes of a midi file, and even have it wait until you play the correct note before the music continues. Way Cool as some would say.

It has USB ports which means that you can use flash drives, Floppy drives with a USB connector, and even HD, CD and DVD drives with same connectors for saving and downloading files.

It has what is called an OTS (One touch setting) function (4 programable buttons) which is used to program different instruments that you want to use on a particular accompaniment(style). That makes it easy to change voices on the fly as you play your music. Lots of things you can do with this unit which includes, changing instruments, volume of each instrument, create and save your own styles ...etc.

One of it's best features are the registration keys which allows you to set up and save your different accompaniments (styles) for the songs you wish to play. It has 8 registration keys which can be saved as a bank. This means that you are able to save 8 of your predefined styles, including your choice of instruments per bank. So, there is NO limit to the number of background accompaniment (styles) you can save, because you can have several banks with 8 backgrounds each. And if you fill up the keyboards memory, there's always the USB flash drive, Floppy drive ..etc that you can save to.

And for all you budding singers out there. Who needs a Karaoke machine when you have one of these? You can attach a microphone, play a midi file, or accompany yourself, and sing to your hearts desire

I can go on and on, but the best thing to do if this interests you, is to do a search on the PSR-S900 on the internet and YouTube and you'll see it's amazing features. Also visit the Yamaha and PSR forums to get an idea just how well this keyboard is supported.

BTW: The PSR-S910 is out and unless you can get an excellent price for this one, I would opt for the newer 910. Other than that, there really isn't much difference in the two.Get more detail about Yamaha PSRS900 61 Key Arranger Workstation.
