I had this keyboard shipped to someone (who was at that point living in a college dorm room) for his birthday because he wanted to learn to play the piano. So I needed something of decent enough quality that he would want to use it but compact enough to not be overtly taxing on space (or on my budget). I chose this keyboard because of the good sound reviews and that fact that it came with a stand AND the adaptor (why are others sold without??) This keyboard has definitely fit the bill, and has been used for 1.5 years now with no problems, has survived multiple cross-country shipping trips, and according to the user, is 'reassuringly solid to play and well built'.
